Contest Information and Guidelines
-
The Flash Fiction Extraordinaire begins on 10 September 2003. Any time after this date, you can enter this Fiction Warehouse contest.
-
To begin, you have to pay a $2 (US) Reading Fee via PayPal. (This fee will be shared with the winner of the contest and any residual fee will go to support future fiction warehouse contests.) During this transaction, PayPal will ask you for the title of your story. Please provide the title as it will help us in matching your submission with your payment. (This will also prevent any mishandling of entries from people who submit more than one story.)
-
Once you have paid the reading fee, PayPal will redirect you to the Contest Entry Form. The Form will require you to provide the following information: your first and last name, email address, story title, and story. The text of your story can be conveniently cut-and-pasted into this form.
-
All stories must meet our length requirement: 1,000 Words or Less
-
Updates will appear on this page keeping tabs on the current number of stories submitted.
-
Deadline determined by participants. fiction warehouse is paying twenty dollars ($20 US) to one out of every twenty entrants into the Flash Fiction Extraordinaire - an ongoing contest of fantastic flash fiction.
-

-

-
Last, but not least, we encourage you to read the small print before submitting your entry.
concerning ethics
The editorial board and outside judge are not given access to any of the information provided with your submission. For contests, the Fiction Warehouse uses a blind-submission process whereby the managing editor is the only person privy to your information. Due to repeated submissions by certain authors, though, it is very likely that some editors will recognize certain writers' styles, and whether good or bad, will affect their judgment of the story. Where possible, the editorial board tries to provide an unbiased opinion and positive criticism that will help the author in creating the best literary fiction possible. The outside judge will be someone who has never worked for the editorial staff of the Fiction Warehouse, and thus, should hold no bias toward any one writer's style - except, of course, in choosing the most appropriate story as the Winning Entry.
Good luck.
